Using the proper publications during the flight training process will help add to your checkride success, and give you all the confidence in the world when it comes time for that big day.
I am a big advocate to reading physical publications, not electronic publications, at least from the start. And please stay away from the search bar, unless you have already read the publications.
Here's a sample of some of the publications that will help you get started.
Student Pilot Guide
Airplane Flying Handbook (FAA-H-8083-3B)
Instrument Flying Handbook
Pilot’s Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge (FAA-H-8083-25B)
Weight & Balance Handbook (FAA-H-8083-1B)
Aircraft Pilot Operating Handbook
Aviation Weather (AC 00-6B)
Aviation Weather Services (00-45H)
